Mechanical Engineer/ Manager – London

An opportunity has arisen for Mechanical Engineers/ Managers to join our Blackfriars office. The candidate will design and supervise projects designated by your group leader. You will carry out detailed design and calculations in accordance with industry guides. You will assist and prepare specifications, reports and drawings to the design programme and oversee project site works, snagging and testing. Office fit out and investment banking experience desired.

Job Holders Primary Objectives

Design and supervise projects designated by your Group Leader. Carry out detailed design and calculations in accordance with industry guides. Assist and prepare specifications, reports and drawings to the design programme. Oversee project site works snagging and testing.

Responsibilities

  • Design, manage and supervise projects, establish client brief, technical requirements, scope of works, cost plans and agree deliverables, i.e. report, specifications and drawings scope for all projects with your Group Leader
  • Agree level of service, and project design duties with your Group Leader, for each project, understand relationship with fee
  • Assist Group Leader with monitoring engineering/CAD resource requirement for each project within your control
  • Carry out engineering concept design to detailed design, tender and contract on site supervision, to completion, ensuring projects are undertaken in accordance with design briefs and that completion deadlines are achieved
  • Liaise with the design team to produce co-ordinated designs that are technically compliant, to a consistent quality and standard. Provide positive contribution to design/project meetings.
  • Maintain regular ‘in house’ design reviews and checks
  • Monitor and control project progress, design variations and project financial budgets
  • Monitor contract staff or third party appointments
  • Maintain excellent client and design team relationships to achieve high levels of satisfaction and repeat business
  • Pursue new business opportunities where appropriate with existing and new clients
  • When acting as design team leader, co-ordinate with other project disciplines
  • Assist Group Leader with identifying and implementing your personal training/CPD requirements. Help develop working practices in the Company
  • Implement and manage QA systems and procedures on all projects
  • Implement Company Health and Safety. Ensure all designs respond to the CDM regulations
  • Implement requirements for ISO9001 & ISO14001
  • Must have high end res and commercial experience, five years+ experience

Immediate Start

Working hours are Monday – Friday – 40 hours per week.

Associate Rail Sector Lead- London

An opportunity has arisen for an Associate Rail Sector Lead to join our Blackfriars office

Job Holder’s Primary Objectives

To develop, lead and manage the development of the Rail Sector for Andrew Reid.

The primary objectives are;

  1. Identify new business opportunities and secure new clients. This should include but not limited to, MEP Commissioning, Design, Asset Management and Documentation Management.
  2. Be abreast of the Rail Sectors strategic direction and form a 3-year plan that aligns Andrew Reid to secure progressive business with current and new clients. This should include any new initiatives.
  3. Have a thorough understanding of the Rail Sector MEP standards and governance. Specifically focused on MEP Commissioning, Design, Asset Management, Documentation and any new initiatives.
  4. Ensure current projects are delivered to profit & cash targets and meet client expectations.
  5. Identify, interview and recruit new engineers/technicians to deliverer projects.

Further Objectives

To ensure projects are commercial assured and operationally efficient. Meaning that contracts have been commercially vetted and approved and individual projects are contractually managed against our agreed scope of works. During delivery make sure they also meet margin and cash flow expectations.

To assist in developing and implementing an innovative strategy, focusing on new clients and segments within the rail sector.

To ensure that:

  • Profitable business growth is maintained and improved as targets may dictate.
  • Project commercial planning and execution is diligently and accurately undertaken

The candidate has accountability, responsibility and ownership for the Rail sector aspects of the business in its delivery of the following criteria:

  • Cash flow
  • Maximising turnover opportunities
  • Margin
  • Project delivery

Commercial Lead- London

Job Holder’s Primary Objectives

To develop, lead and manage all commercial activities of the business.

To ensure current projects are commercial assured.  Meaning that contracts have been commercially vetted and approved and individual projects are contractually managed against our agreed scope of works.  During delivery make sure they also meet margin and cash flow expectations.

To assist in developing and implementing an innovative commercial strategy, focusing on new clients and wider markets.

To ensure that:

  • Profitable business growth is maintained and improved as targets may dictate.
  • Project commercial planning and execution is diligently and accurately undertaken

 The candidate has accountability, responsibility and ownership for the financial aspects of the business in its delivery of the following criteria:

  • Cash flow
  • Maximising turnover opportunities
  • Margin
