21 Moorfields Secured

HDR | Andrew Reid is delighted to be involved in the exciting 21 Moorfields project. This is a joint appointment involving both a longstanding and more recent relationship with two valued clients, a tenant and developer: Deutsche Bank and Landsec.

21 Moorfields
As the largest commercial property company in the UK, owning 26 million sq ft of property, Landsec is a significant relationship that HDR | Andrew Reid is extremely proud to be embarking on.

Having continually worked with Deutsche Bank around the globe since 1997 when they moved into their new HQ at Winchester House, this project brings our relationship full circle as we assist in their relocation from that original location and into 21 Moorfields.

Located above Moor Street tube station and alongside Liverpool Street Crossrail station, 21 Moorfields is ideally placed in one of London’s most active commuter centres. After standing largely vacant since 2003, the two-acre site is being redeveloped to include:

  • 50,000m² of deluxe retail and office space
  • Improved pedestrian access with the addition of a reconfigured highwalk
  • A new, attractively landscaped public square

While there are many advantages to this location, it also poses some unique engineering challenges – in particular, the sinking of large piles adjacent to the rail tracks. The chosen solution is a bridge-like structure that straddles the transport corridor, and HDR | Andrew Reid has been hired to validate the commissioning of the base building services.
