John Hall BSc(Hons)
John qualified as a mechanical engineer, with a focus on energy studies. He joined Sainsbury’s central design team in 1994 to develop and implement standard energy efficient BMS control regimes for adoption in their ambitious supermarket construction programme. Other projects for Sainsburys included analysis of energy consumption data across the estate of 450+ buildings and the introduction of normalised league tables, benchmarking and key ratio development which were later integrated into an on-line monitoring and targeting programme.
In 1990 John became a partner in Colledge Trundle & Hall CTH, a BMS systems integration firm and leading Trend Technology Centre. Here he developed business with key clients including Sainsbury’s, the BBC, Great Portland Estates and well as a number of large M&E contractors. A stellar project for CTH was Heathrow Terminal 5 where they lead the BMS design team. John’s early involvement at T5 included formulation of standard hardware and software modules enabling proven Macros to be applied, significantly reducing commissioning and integration time on site.
John joined the senior team at Andrew Reid in 2012 with operational responsibility for commissioning services in the UK and Europe. He was appointed to the Board in April 2015 as Technical Director with responsibility for Commissioning projects in the Critical Sector.
Outside of work, John helps to lead a local evangelical church, he enjoys watching most forms of sport, cooking and scenic walks with his family and two dogs – usually planned around a good country pub.
