AR&P beefs up presence in retail sector

AR&P have recently been appointed to design the building services at two significant stores for Whole Foods Markets; Richmond and Fulham – both in west London.

Following the successful outcome of our role as Services Co-Ordinators on their Piccadilly Store, and our appointments as Commissioning Validation Engineers on several others, high end US retail chain, Whole Foods Markets, have appointed AR&P to their team as MEP design consultants for their new 2,500m2 and 3,150m2 stores in Richmond and Fulham respectively. As well as stocking high quality food on their shelves, Whole Foods stores include fully working bakeries, kitchens and preparation areas producing hot and cold food for sale within the stores. The location and nature of the buildings that Whole Foods occupy, together with their requirements for very specific aesthetics, demands a more complex and collaborative approach to design than that of the typical modern supermarket.
