Health & Safety Policy

Andrew Reid is a consulting engineering company specialising in the design and management of commissioning of building engineering services.   This policy states our intention to take all reasonable measures, to conduct our business activities to ensure the Health, Safety and Welfare of all our employees and all other persons who may be affected by what we do. This commitment includes consultants whom we employ, clients, and other third parties with whom we are involved with through our work. The company’s directors are responsible for Health & Safety and jointly commit to:

  • Complying with all relevant legislation
  • Seeking continual improvement in our safety performance
  • Making Health & Safety an integral part of our business success

This will be achieved by:

  • Developing systems aligned with HSG 65, BS18004 and ISO 9001
  • Providing and maintaining, for use by our staff, equipment that is safe and without risks to health
  • Providing a safe working environment for our staff with an adequate means of escape in the event of fire or other emergency
  • Providing staff, including agency staff working for us with appropriate information, instruction, safety training and supervision to ensure competency
  • Consulting with our employees on matters affecting their health and safety and provide awareness of individual OH&S obligations
  • Ensure site project related OH&S issues are managed and controlled
  • Seek to prevent accidents and cases of work related injury and ill health
  • Ensuring that our designs and our management in our site activities provide for safe actions of others affected by our activities
  • Setting goals and action plans to ensure continuous improvement in our safety performance
  • Training our employees to achieve and maintain high standards of health and safety performance
  • Creating a positive Health and Safety culture and ensuring that it is our highest priority
  • Encouraging staff to promote innovation in improving Health & Safety performance
  • Communicating openly with staff, consultants, clients, and others with whom we work on health safety and welfare issues.

This policy will be regularly reviewed to ensure that it is appropriate to the nature and scale of our occupational Health and Safety risks.
